Waste water traetment of city Darkhan

Objectives
In the waste water treatment plant (WWTP) of city of Darkhan we have several contrary goals of managing under the extreme minus climatic conditions of Mongolia. First there is the optimal treatment and second there is the energy management which want to minimize the energy consumption by optimal pump scheduling and management of the daily processes. The further goals of this work package are the planning and dimensioning of the waste water treatment plant (WWTP) of Darkhan under sustainable, ecological and economic view. The most relevant, interrelated problems (overexploitation of water resources, diffuse pollution, waste water treatment in rural and urban areas, protection of ecological functions and conservation of natural resources) will be addressed jointly in an overall approach. With these objectives, a concept will be developed for a holistic waste water management decision support system (DSS). By software product POS, developing in FhAST will be presented an optimal planning for the construction and reconstruction of the WWTP and proposals for optimal management of the daily process operation. Thereby the most immense costs of reconstruction of the WWTP and of running processes can be minimised. The software POS will be used for the capacity building and transfer of knowledge of students and local staffs too.
